the little match girl passion: the song company
// director + designer

For Easter 2014, The Song Company (Australia) and Cryptic co-produced David Lang’s The Little Match Girl Passion for a tour of Eastern Australia. David Lang sets the well-known fable as a highly personal passion using biblical texts and crowd responses from Bach’s St Matthew Passion exploring Easter’s theme of purification. Also in the programme was the late-Renaissance polyphonic, St John Passion by Christoph Demantius.
The performances took place in Woolongong, Parramatta, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne.
